Kids Can Kids Night #2

WOW!! What a night!!! From relay races and flag football to learning about the importance of paying attention to the foods we put in our bodies, the Kids Can kids had a simply FABULOUS night in!

Over 20 kids came out to give their parents a much needed break, while engaging in fun activities including working with Chef Christine the Culinary Program Director for Flipany who planned a Popping Fun Cookie Monster Mash Party for the kids. From stirring and pouring to measuring and tasting, we learned that dessert doesn’t have to be full of sugar and butter to taste good!

At the end of the night, the Kids Can kids made a donation to Flipany so that kids just like them can participate in Chef Christine’s Cooking Matters Program!

Houses for Change Donation Update

Kids Can received the following letter from Family Promise, which sponsors the Houses for Change program:

Dear Logan and Kids Can members,

I wanted to send you a personal note of thanks for your efforts on behalf of homeless families and Family Promise in particular. We received your generous check today and are applying it to our general fund. It will be used to help us develop one of our new Affiliates nationwide to provide shelter and support for children and parents who find themselves temporarily without a home.

I’m so pleased that you used the Houses for Change project as your fundraiser. When Mark Wasserman dreamed up the idea several years ago and approached us to partner with him on its development, we hoped that it would serve, not only as a tool for raising money, but also as a means to engage youth in the critical effort to raise awareness of families in need.

The Kids Can Foundation perfectly embodies what we had envisioned—empowering children to give back to those in their communities who are less fortunate. Your input is helping us change the world, one family at a time.

Thank you once again for your contribution.
