Scholarships Donations Delivered

This past week was a very important milestone for Kids Can. The first two scholarship donations, funds which were raised from our Young At Art Gala, were presented this week.

Logan Bratter delivered the first one – a $1,000.00 scholarship to the University School’s Epstein Center for the Arts. This Kids Can donation will be used for music lessons for two students who otherwise could not have afforded to take lessons.

Miles Mittentag delievered the second one which was a $1,025.00 donation to Kids In Distress (KID) which will be used to support their amazing organization.

Pictures from each donation can be found on our gallery page.

More scholarship donations to come!!!

Once again, we’ve challenged ourselves to make 150 individual lunches for the Jubilee Center of Hollywood and we know that Kids CAN do it!!

Kids Can are holding our 2nd challenge on September 22, 2013 at 4:00pm. Howie and Rebeca Fleischer have once again offered their restaurant, Howie’s Top Dog as the location! Please help us make lunches for our local soup kitchen. Space is limited to 25 kids so please RSVP as soon as possible! The lunches we’ll be making will be: PB&J sandwiches, individual chip bags and a juice box that will all be placed into individual lunch bags. Remember – all children must be accompanied by an adult!

To make this event a success, please plan to bring some key ingredients with you on the 22nd! We will need loaves of bread, peanut butter, jelly, small bags of chips, juice boxes and brown lunch bags.

Want us to shop for you? To make it even easier, feel free to make a donation to Kids Can through PayPal or request an invoice from us and we will shop for you!

Kids Can Lunch Donation – August 2013

On Sunday, August 25th, Kids Can successfully accomplished their goal of making 150 individual bag lunches for the Jubilee Center of Hollywood. The kids made and packed all of the bag lunches which contained a PB&J sandwich, a bag of chips, and a juice box. We’d like to thank all the incredible kids and families that came out to Howie’s Top Dog in Davie to help us accomplish our goal and hope to see more faces at our next volunteer event.

We also want to say a big thanks to Howie and his family at Howie’s Top Dog for allowing Kids Can to use their restaurant to prepare these lunches.

Pictures from the event can be found on our Gallery page.

The following is the thank you that Kids Can received from the Jubilee Center:

Thank you so much for the donation of PBJ sack lunches this morning Pennie. It truly is a generous donation that helps us feed working poor and homeless individuals and families with children. It truly is a blessing to have you part of the Jubilee family that is helping those in need.
